Lemon muffins
These were very easy to make and oh so delicious!
Here’s the recipe: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Lemon-Muffins/Detail.aspx?soid=recs_recipe_seedI modified the recipe a bit: I used two tablespoons of lemon zest instead of just one, and 1 cup of liquid instead of 3/4 cup ( 1/2 cup of half-and-half and 1/2 cup of milk)

    Long weekend in Jim Thorpe

We had a wonderful time last weekend at our friends’ Matthew and Jennifer, in Jim Thorpe, PA. We had the chance to visit a few local Farm Markets, looking for ingredients for the wonderful meals that we had.

    Marinated Feta
David Lebovitz posted this fantastic marinated feta recipe a few years ago.I used fresh thyme, bay leaf, red pepper flakes and black pepper. No rosemary was added because I don’t really like it.
Let’s say we had ‘an episode’ almost a decade ago, and we haven’t been able to be friends again.

    Cranberry Simple Syrup

Last year, when I ate fresh cranberries for the very first time in my life, I didn’t expect them to be so tart. I had bought a whole bag of cranberries but didn’t know what to do with them. So I froze them.

Ten months later, I came across this recipe for cranberry simple syrup, and I was able to finally use that bag of cranberries. We are having - as we speak - cranberry spritzers. Refreshing!

    Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil Orzo

Sweet Paul posted this Guilia Audrey Doyle recipe a few weeks ago and I knew I wanted to try it because it’s the perfect combination of three of my favorite things in the world: tomatoes, pasta and cheese.

Light and airy pound cake with blueberry/blackberry coulis

I’ve been wanting to bake pound cake for several weeks. Today was definitely the perfect day for it!

I followed this recipe from the lovely Deb from Smitten Kitchen, who I happened to meet in person last night. Yay!

I served this with a coulis I made out of blackberries and blueberries I had at hand. In her recipe, she used strawberries, but as she mentioned, any berry will do.

Rodo has been dreaming of a 100mm macro lens ever since I got my first DSLR. We never managed to find the excuse to buy it.

We rented one this weekend, so we had the perfect excuse to cook something really special to photograph.

We started out with the idea to make a beef slider with fries, but the combination of a failed first attempt at making the buns, and the fact that getting crispy fries involves a lot of frying, made us change our mind.

To our fortune, we had a rack of Saint Louis style pork spare ribs sitting in the fridge, begging us to be cooked and enough ingredients to make our version of a Vietnamese Bánh-mì.
